Volunteer roles

Our volunteer programs are diverse and cater to different interests and skill levels.

All volunteers are required to undertake a working with children check as part of their volunteer induction (we will arrange this for you).

Attend PEC for a few hours each week and depending on skills and interests can assist with some of the following:

  • help to keep the centre looking good
  • shape upcoming events and activities
  • update or develop new handouts and resources for the centre
  • write short blog posts
  • create other content for our e-news and socials
  • maintain our library

We are always looking for people to create content for us. Are you a keen writer or social media whiz? Get in touch to create blog posts, social media content and newsletter articles for PEC.

Ideas could include book reviews, interviews with local community groups, articles about our events or a local environmental issue.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to contribute with ad-hoc hours.

Help out as needed with events and community activities, including our monthly Sunday Sessions.

Time contributions are ad-hoc and can include evenings and weekends. Regular centre volunteers can also be event support volunteers.

We are currently looking for someone with a good understanding of scientific data and skills in science communication to help us communicate and make local bird monitoring data more accessible.
