Host a Meeting or Workshop

The Port Environment Centre has two meeting spaces that can be booked free of charge for community meetings and workshops with an environmental focus.

The front room can accommodate 12 people (or 14 if seated lecture style). This space can be booked by groups anytime outside of our usual opening hours (Wed, Thurs, Fri 10am – 3pm).

The back meeting room can fit up to 10 people, and is available for bookings during the day, on weekends and in the evenings.

There is also a small kitchenette. Please BYO tea, coffee and supplies.

Port Environment Centre requires all hirers to hold Public Liability Insurance. Please contact the Coordinator if your group does not hold public liability insurance as we may be able to extend public liability insurance cover to you for the duration of your meeting.

Please note there are no disabled toilets on site.

Auspicing

Does your environment group wish to apply for a grant that requires auspicing from an incorporated organisation?

The PEC is an incorporated organisation and can auspice and support local groups with projects.

You carry out the project, while we receive the project funding and assist you with the allocation, spending & acquittal of the project funding, according to a mutual agreement.

The Port Environment Centre offers:

  • Auspicing for local projects that support our aims, including living sustainably, caring for, learning about and enjoying the natural coastal, marine and estuarine environment.
  • Financial framework for the receipt and acquittal of grant funding.
  • Website, Facebook & Instagram for promotion of your project.

Please ensure you contact us with enough time for PEC to consider your project and make a formal decision. We recommend contacting us a minimum of one month prior to the grant application closing.
