Saltmarsh ecosystems are vital for healthy waterways—they provide shelter for juvenile fish, recycle nutrients and stabilise shorelines. They are important, but often overlooked habitats that are under threat from human impacts.
Come along for a saltmarsh working bee to learn more about local plants, monitor existing saltmarsh habitats, and help get hands-on with supporting habitat recovery.
Local OzFish staff will provide monitoring training, along with gloves and safety equipment as part of the event.

City of Port Adelaide Enfield  Citizen Science volunteers have been busy spotting an impressive 7,789 birds in our stunning reserves and wetlands over the last Autumn season. This helps us understand our local birds and the habitats they use as the season changes.

    Come out this Friday night and discover the hidden Come out this Friday night and discover the hidden nocturnal life of the Port River!
As part of the River Night Walks event by the City of PAE we are heading  out for guided torchlight tours from the pontoon between the Birkenhead Bridge and the lighthouse from 6:30-9pm.
We will also have an exhibition of photography from previous tours up on display inside the Port Environment Centre on Friday and Saturday nights.
AND we will be running drop in sessions all night for people to contribute to the Travelling Sea Garden community art project at the Port Environment Centre.

    The South Australian Government is hosting a commu The South Australian Government is hosting a community forum on H5 bird flu in Port Adelaide next Monday 17 August, 6pm at Yitpi Yartapuultiku. 
The forum will feature expert presentations about bird flu, public health advice and safety, and include a panel Q&A. This forum will provide updates on the current preparedness measures in place, as well as the animal, human and environmental health considerations.
You’ll hear from state government leaders and experts including the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development, the Hon. Clare Scriven MLC, and representatives from the Department of Primary Industries and Regions South Australia, Department for Environment and Water and SA Health.
Forums are free and open to the public.
