Project Officer, Port Environment Centre

Salary : $64,636 p.a. (FTE) + superannuation (AS03-1)

(note the salary will increase to $65,606 pa (FTE) in August 2022)

Part time: 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE) 12 month contract; three month probation period. 

The Port Environment Centre is recruiting a Project Officer to expand the reach and impact of the centre and to support community led approaches and participation in environmental activities and action. This position is made possible with funding received from the City of Port Adelaide Enfield (Living Environment Program), and the Suzanne Elliott Charitable Trust.

This is a broad role that will work to achieve the following:

  • A focus on developing and supporting events, projects and communication materials that support urban greening, and citizen science initiatives.
  • Extending the reach of the centre, increasing community engagement, and building social connections through environmental activities and action.
  • Supporting capacity building, environmental leadership and action.
  • Supporting local groups to develop project ideas and establish a trial of the Centre auspicing environmental groups and projects.
  • Building on the In Our Street pilot project to engage more and diverse street communities.

Special Requirements:

  • Some weekend work will be required.
  • PEC will require the preferred applicant to obtain a National Police Check and a Working With Children Check prior to commencement.
